Our Team

Our Sales Team is comprised of licensed P.E.s as well as CPESC certified professionals, and our Engineered Solutions team is lead by a Licensed Professional Engineer.

Jim Blazek – Vice President, CPESC

Jim Blazek is Vice President and General Manager of D2 Land & Water Resource, Inc. For 25 years Jim has emphasized the effective transfer and utilization of cost effective, innovative, and environmentally friendly technologies for erosion/sediment control, geotechnical engineering, and stormwater management.

Through careful site analysis and evaluation Jim promotes solution based design. His collaboration with the design community results in budget preparation, design, specification development, and successful project installations. Jim advocates, aides, and encourages the utilization of proven and progressive technology with a wide variety of educational, municipal, and professional organizations.

His expertise is assisting others with site assessment, and then appropriately budgeting, specifying, and applying technology. Through outreach, presenting, and volunteering Jim constantly encourages and motivates people to develop their knowledge base and further the practice of sustainable infrastructure design, installation, and maintenance.

Jim lives in Indianapolis with his wife and three children.

Alan Sutkowski – Vice President, CPESC

Alan Sutkowski joined the D2 team in 2008 and has more than a decade of a construction experience.  Alan currently assists in running the day-to-day operations of D2 focusing on managing a team of seasoned professionals, improving existing and beginning new vendor relationships, managing receivables/payables, along with various other daily activities.

He began his career as a sales professional in the residential restoration industry and then transitioned to the restaurant construction industry.  He climbed the ranks to the director of operations and construction of new store openings for a national franchise operation.  After, he joined a company specializing in overhead crane systems servicing steel mills, car manufacturing and various other manufacturing that required heavy lifting machinery.  He then progressed to a regional sales position with Advanced Drainage Systems (ADS), which led him to D2.

Alan has researched D2 offerings thoroughly and makes sure that he is up-to-date with industry advancements.  Additionally, he insures that D2 creates new and more efficient specifications for projects and products.  He is well versed in erosion control, sub-grade/base reinforcements, stormwater management and porous pavement.  He works with customers to insure that their projects have the best outcomes.

Alan received his bachelor’s degree from Indiana University and is a Certified Professional in Erosion and Sediment Control (CPESC).

Michael Bledsoe – Central Indiana Sales Manager

Michael Bledsoe is the Central Indiana Sales Manager at D2.  Michael has more than a decade of experience in the construction industry.  His prior experience as a contractor, project manager and estimator is invaluable to clients as they look for solutions to their site-specific issues.

Michael works with customers to examine the issues that they are facing.  He offers insight that was gleaned from his experience as a product manager.  Michael is an expert on the materials that D2 offers, which allows him to offer customized solutions and enhanced service for D2 customers.

Michael has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Management from Ivy Tech.

Sarah Davis – Client Services Representative

Sarah Davis is the Client Services Representative at D2.  She provides sales and service support.  Sarah facilitates order management, purchasing and receiving of products.  Sarah has more than 30 years of experience and has been with D2 since 2012.

Sarah’s significant experience benefits D2 customers greatly.  Her expertise in logistics coordination insures that D2 products are where you want them, when you want them.  She works with regional sales managers and D2 customers to insure that we are consistently exceeding expectations.

Sarah has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from Western Michigan University.

Al McAuliffe – Northwest Regional Sales Manager

Al McAuliffe joined D2 in 2005 as the Northwest Regional Sales Manager.  He has more than 30 years of experience, with more than a decade in “green” technology.  He began his career in the high temperature processing industries, which entailed steel, aluminum, cement and glass production. He was a plant manager and business-marketing manager for the North American Region.

He then went on to “green” technologies in 2000 promoting water & soil conservation, which evolved into erosion and sediment control, geosynthetics, storm water management and engineered solution based development.

Al has a bachelor’s degree from Ohio State University.

George Overton – Logistics Manager & Purchasing Agent

George Overton is the Logistics Manager and Purchasing Agent at D2.  He joined D2 in 2006 and has more than twenty years of experience in logistics.

George manages the logistics at D2, so that D2 is always prepared to meet our customers’ needs and exceed their expectations.  George coordinates freight outbound to insure that product is being delivered according to the project schedule and inbound to insure that D2 has product in stock to satisfy customer requirements.

Christa Petzke, P.E., M.B.A – Engineer Products Manager

Christa Petzke joined D2 in 2012 as an Engineer Products Manager.  Christa is a great addition to the Engineered Solutions team with as more than 13 years of experience in stormwater management, erosion control and hydrology. She has spoken at national conferences across the country including the International Erosion Control Association, American Society of Landscape Architects and Water Environment Federation.  Formerly, Christa was the east regional business manager for Firestone Specialty Products, LLC where she managed 24 states in their geomembrane and stormwater management businesses. Prior to Firestone Specialty Products, she served as a technical sales consultant for Contech Construction Products, where she worked closely with engineers, architects, government agencies and municipalities.

Christa has her Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering from Purdue University and her MBA from Indiana Wesleyan University.

Jake Roberts – Inside Sales and Support

Jake Roberts began working with D2 in 2006 as a CAD Tech.  Since that time, Jake has taken on additional responsibilities in relation to marketing, project design, and sales efforts. In 2011, Jake was promoted to Inside Sales & Sales Support where he actively assists D2’s regional sales managers with technical product.  He further supports D2’s engineered systems efforts by creating and maintaining an AutoCAD detail library.  Additionally, he supports the daily needs of D2 customers.

Steve Scott – Northeast Regional Sales Manager

Steve Scott, D2’s Northeast Regional Sales Manager, has been in the geotextile and erosion control business for over 25 years.  He shares his vast experience with D2 customers and offers his insight on the best solutions for their needs.

His career started in Colorado as a technical sales representative; he was responsible for promoting geosynthetic and erosion control products to the contracting and engineering community.  His role expanded over time to include working with the National Forest Service, Bureau of Land Management, and many other government agencies.  Steve then joined the golf course construction industry and was involved in projects in the United States, Spain, Portugal, Mexico, Dominican Republic, Bahamas, Panama, and Barbados.

Steve continued his business education at Morehead State University and Ball State University.

Steve Shoemaker – Southern Regional Manager

Steve has more than 30 years of construction and environmental project planning.  Steve contributes to D2’s sales, marketing, business development and strategic planning efforts.  He leads general construction and environmental projects within the southern region.

Steve’s career began in the geosynthetic industry.  His experience parlayed into being the CEO of Horizon Golf, a golf specialty contractor, where he was responsible for the construction and renovation efforts at more than 200 courses – including many award winning and internationally ranked properties.  Steve has created natural appearing lake and stream systems, waterfalls, rockscapes, channel remediation and other water features that incorporate geosynthetic components in their design.

Steve has also formerly served as a Board member and President of the Golf Course Builders Association of America (GCBAA) Foundation, which is the endowment of the GCBAA and endeavors to promote golf through a variety of community-based programs.

Steve received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Planning and Development from the University of Denver.

Matt Barbour – Plant Operator

Matt Barbour is the Plant Operator at D2. Matt has more than 20 years of experience in the landscape and construction industries. His prior experience as a contractor, project manager and designer is instrumental when helping D2 clients find solutions.

Matt’s previous positions before joining D2 allowed him to work with and gain knowledge of the various products offered by D2.

Matt is managing D2’s coir log plant where we construct many different types of logs used for erosion and sediment control on projects.

Matt has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Landscape Architecture from Purdue University.

Aggie Wright – Sales & Administrative Assistant

Aggie Wright is a detail oriented, multi-skilled professional. She fills a Sales and Administrative Support role at D2. Aggie has more than 15 years of experience in the realm of customer service and business operations. Her prior experience as a purchasing agent, customer service representative, administrative assistant, and billing clerk is a great addition to our desire and ability of completely satisfying our customers. Aggie will greet customers, assist with inside sales, and assist in the completion of the significant quantity of transactions and tasks associated with logistics, accounts payable, and account receivable. Lastly, Aggie has vast experience with MS Outlook, MS Word, and MS Excel and is highly detail oriented.
