Environmentally Friendly Coir Products
Made from the eco-friendly coconut husk– a part of the coconut that used to be discarded as waste, Coir products now offer a natural solution to civil engineering projects.
Coconut Coir Logs are 100% biodegradable coconut fibers that can be used for erosion control at the water line for stream banks, pond edges, lakeshores, and stormwater swales. Once staked and secured to the bank, the dense coir logs will accumulate sediment and seed promoting the establishment of a stabilized bank before the log disintegrates. It can also be installed above the normal water line along slop contours to slow down runoff and prevent rill erosion
Coir Erosion Control Mats (RECPs) are 100% woven coir yarn fiber that are used for soil and slope stabilization, effectively decreasing erosion and allowing vegetarian to properly take root. Coir mats are used for wetland and stream bank restoration, slope stabilization, hillside erosion control, and channel filtration & control.
Vegetated Coir Logs are 100% biodegradable coconut fibers, plugged with native wetland plants. They can be used for erosion control at the water line for stream banks, pond edges, lakeshores, and stormwater swales. Once staked and secured to the bank, the dense coir logs act as a buffer between high-energy wave activity to help hold newly graded banks. The logs will persist for 3-5 years while the plants establish themselves and eventually root into the bank. When the coir logs biodegrade, the plants and roots will remain to stabilize the bank with an intensive native root structure substrate.
