Geotextiles

Widely known for separating dissimilar soils or aggregates, geotextiles (also known as geotextile fabrics) have many other characteristics.  Which geotextile is right for your application may also depend on if the project owner (such as INDOT) as well as filtration, drainage, confinement, and reinforcement abilities.  These characteristics can vary widely, even within the broad categories of woven and non-woven, geotextiles.  Knowledge of these differences, as well as application and in-situ soils, help to choose the most cost-effective solution for your pavement section.
