The original geogrid, biaxial geogrid (aka BX) was invented by Tensar in the 1980s. Since then, Tensar BX geogrids have been used in over half a million projects worldwide. Although it’s the lowest initial cost geogrid, it’s not considered the highest performer, and it will need more stone depth vs. TriAx or InterAx to do the same job. This often makes solutions utilizing the more advanced TriAx and InterAx geogrids lower in initial cost when additional excavation and stone costs are considered.
